Nick’s journey is nothing short of incredible. After facing some of life’s toughest challenges — personal loss, financial hardship, and rebuilding from scratch — he created Vital Facilities Solutions from the ground up, with nothing but a borrowed car, a few tools, and a deep desire to make a difference.

Today, we’re a growing team delivering caretaking, compliance and maintenance services to schools, charities, and organisations across the North of England. We’ve stayed grounded in what matters: honesty, reliability, and a genuine commitment to the people we serve.

This award shines a spotlight not just on Nick’s story, but on the values we live by as a team every single day — supporting vulnerable communities, working with pride, and always going the extra mile.

We’re also incredibly excited about what’s ahead. Nick is now developing a charity called The Growing Place — a social impact project that will create outdoor recovery hubs for dads and others going through tough times. It’s a project that reflects our wider purpose as a business: to not just fix buildings, but help rebuild lives.
