The Leadership Lessons I Learned From My Mum 💜

Mother’s Day is a chance to pause and reflect.

In business we often talk about growth, targets, strategy and success. But many of the values that shape us as leaders actually come from much earlier in life.

For me, those lessons started with my mum.

Through life’s ups and downs she has always been a tower of strength for our family. Encouragement when things were difficult, pride when things went well, and the steady reminder to keep going when things felt uncertain.

Those lessons stay with you.

▶️ Resilience.

▶️ Kindness.

▶️ Looking after people.

▶️ Getting back up when life knocks you down.

They’re not just family values — they’re leadership and life values.

At Vital Facilities Solutions we believe in supporting people, doing things properly, and making a positive difference to the schools, organisations and communities we serve.

So today is simply about saying thank you.

To the mums, step-mums, grandmas and mother figures who shape who we become.

Because behind many entrepreneurs, leaders and grafters… there’s often a mum who believed in them first.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mums and mother figures out there. 💜
